Heshka Oil LLC is a U.S.
-based manufacturer of oil and gas pressure-control equipment. We are seeking a Design Engineer II to support day-to-day product design, drawing development, and engineering change activities for API‑compliant equipment.
This role is intended for an engineer with solid design experience who can operate independently on standard products while growing into higher-level technical responsibility over time.
What This Role Is- Focused on product design, drawings, and design changes
- Heavy use of API design codes and industry standards
- Direct collaboration with senior engineering leadership
This role is not τεχ a process/manufacturing optimization position.
Responsibilities- Develop and modify product designs using 3D CAD software (Solid Works preferred)
- Create and release detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and BOMs
- Apply applicable design codes and standards, including API 6A and related specifications
- Support and own routine Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs)
- Provide design clarification and support to manufacturing
Visible, assembly, and testing - Assist with design verification, validation, and testing activities
- Support NCR investigations and corrective actions related to design issues
- Maintain controlled engineering documentation in accordance with company QMS requirements
- Escalate non-standard, high-risk, or pressure-critical design decisions as appropriate
This role is structured to allow a capable Design Engineer II to grow into a Senior Design Engineer role based on demonstrated technical capability, ownership, and judgment, not tenure alone.
Qualifications Required- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 3–6 years of design engineering experience
- Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies
- Ability to work independently on drawings and design changes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with oil and gas equipment or pressure-containing products
- Working knowledge of API 6A, API 6X, and ASME Section VIII
- Experience supporting design reviews, audits, or code compliance activities
- Sound engineering judgment
- Strong understanding of design codes and requirements
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility
- Long-term mindset and accountability
- Combination of office-based design work and shop interaction
- PPE required in shop areas (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)
- Exposure to typical industrial environments
- Possible field and tenår customer visits
