Position Overview

Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an experienced, attentive, and conscientious family medicine or internal medicine physician with strong interpersonal skills. The candidate should be capable of treating a wide range of medical conditions in a multispecialty clinic affiliated with our osteopathic medical school.

Responsibilities
  • Produce individualized healthcare programs based on patient history.
  • Provide continuous healthcare support and health management advice.
  • Build relationships and take a vested interest in patients' well-being.
  • Refer patients to external specialists when necessary.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and other faculty to maintain clinical stability.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and allied health students in the clinical setting.
  • Contribute to medical education of pre-clinical students and participate in college committees.
  • Maintain clinical performance and potentially participate in incentive plans.
  • Possess basic primary care procedural skills.
  • Location

    This position is located in Conroe at the newly developed College of Osteopathic Medicine facility.

    Qualifications
    • Osteopathic degree preferred; MD considered if demonstrating holistic care aligned with osteopathic philosophy.
    • Current Texas State Medical License or ability to obtain one.
    • Board certification in family or internal medicine.
    • Completion of a 3-year residency in family or internal medicine.
    • Experience in outpatient medicine, pediatrics (preferred), surgery, neurology, psychiatry, outpatient gynecology, and community medicine.
    • Excellent communication skills and a caring, compassionate attitude.
    • Osteopathic manipulation skills are required.
    • Experience in medical education is preferred.
    Additional Information

    This is a non-tenure track faculty position with potential appointment as an Assistant Professor. Salary and rank depend on experience and training.
