Base pay range: $70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Huxted Trenchless, LLC, a JAG Company located in Conroe TX, is growing and looking for an Estimator I to support our Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and trenchless construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career Estimator with 1–4 years of heavy civil experience who wants to build specialized expertise in trenchless construction.
Responsibilities- Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for HDD projects
- Review plans, specifications, bore profiles, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
- Support pricing development based on HDD means & methods, crew sizes, equipment, and production rates
- Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes
- Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and risks; draft clarifying questions
- Follow JAG/Huxted estimating processes and participate in EOS‑based estimating meetings
- 1–4 years of estimating experience with a heavy civil or trenchless contractor
- Basic understanding of HDD or underground utility construction
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documents
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Heavy Bid (or similar), and Microsoft Excel
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to meet bid deadlines
- Coachable, motivated, and eager to grow within an estimating team
