The Shipping Supervisor will manage the Shipping Department while performing shipping duties, as needed. They will communicate with the Plant manager and other members of management to communicate any possible delays or effects to shipping needs.
Responsibilities- Supervise department employees, ensuring safety and quality of work.
- Accurately keep timecard records and approve them in required time.
- Ensure proper PPE is worn at all times.
- Ensure policies and procedures of the company are followed.
- Ensure shipping schedule is met.
- Work closely with HR on employee issues.
- Report any safety incidents or employee issues immediately to HR.
- Perform investigation into employee issues or safety incidents.
- Analyze work, area, schedules and manpower to ensure proper procedures and best practices are used daily.
- Bring suggestions to management on performance, best practices or other improvement ideas.
- Keep work area in order and maintained for safety and efficiency.
- Collect work from wrappers and stage to be loaded onto truck.
- Properly and accurately document all pieces loaded.
- Prepare bill of lading for completed loads.
- Expedite items as needed.
- Assist in wrapping as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
- All regular and predictable duties of the job.
Heated and cooled furniture manufacturing plant with concrete floors.

- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
: 3+ years of manufacturing experience. - PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
: 5+ years of furniture experience, and specifically warehouse/shipping department. - MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or Equivalent - PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 150 lbs.
- Must be able to use computers and computer systems.
- Must be able to lead by example.
- Must have good attendance.
- Must be able to read an order ticket.
- Must have general office equipment knowledge.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills, including ability to describe and convey nonconformance issues.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Must be able to work with no supervision.
- Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
- Must be able to work Weekends and Overtime as needed.
- Must be reliable.
- Must have strong English language skills.
- Must be able to wear required safety PPE such as safety glasses and closed-toe/closed-heel shoes.
- Must be able to adhere to all safety policies and procedures to prevent injuries to yourself and others.
