Stonington Institute, a division of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), has an immediate opening for a Program Manager.

Stonington Institute is committed to providing quality substance abuse treatment options for adults in southeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas. We offer medical detox, residential addiction treatment for active duty and retired military service members, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment. Our site in Groton, CT, is conveniently located across the street from The Inn at Trails Corner, a new 180‑bed sober community that provides overnight accommodations, full‑meal service, recreation options, a workout room, and a computer center for all clients.

Position

Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for the supervision of the residential aides (RAs), management of unit operations, and implementation of all Institute policies and procedures related to safety, security, client care, counseling, advocacy, and support.

Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee and supervise all Residential Aide staff, ensuring regular supervision and communication as required by agency policies and procedures.
  • Monitor units to ensure they operate in compliance with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Process weekly payroll.
  • Create and maintain RA schedules, considering employment status and program needs, approve planned time off, arrange coverage for shifts with call‑outs, and ensure staff with appropriate driving privileges are scheduled when transportation is needed.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and management of client transportation needs, including admissions, discharges, emergent travel, and unit activity‑related transportation.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and management of on‑campus self‑help meetings (AA/NA).
  • Maintain the Treatment Tracker.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. 1115 Waiver‑Recognized License/Certification preferred.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interface with community agencies and military command.

General knowledge of community resources for Tricare, Veterans, and Medicaid populations.

Ability to exercise judgment, leadership, and teaching skills needed to interact with all stakeholders in the behavioral healthcare system.
