Full-Time Night Auditor Position in Gales Ferry, Connecticut

This position commences in April (datetbd). Interviews will begin towards the end of March at the earliest.
About the Company
Cannonball Inc. is a dynamic and quickly growing company based out of Mystic, Connecticut, which owns and manages various popular restaurant establishments in the area, together with its newest addition, an in-development luxury motel named The Commodore. The successful applicant to this position will be employed as a full-time night auditor for themotel, at which time they will become responsible for a multitude of tasks, including handling late-night front desk duties, and closing out and opening each financial day.
The Commodore is Cannonball Inc.'s newest and most exciting project - a "New York-standard" motel based out of and serving the communities of Eastern Connecticut, set to open in late Spring or early Summer, 2026. Applicants have the opportunity to join this project at the moment of its launch, standardizing their position's procedures as they go and collaborating with the company's leadership to produce excellent outcomes for guests.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 25lbs and reaching up to 12ins as needed, as well as of both moving around through relevant work spaces and remaining stationary for multiple hours at a time
- Must be willing to work overnight shifts, weekends and holidays, and alone at night
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with basic accounting tasks, including cash handling and reconciling accounts
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and remain alert during overnight hours
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Previous hotel front desk or night audit experience preferred
- Experience with Inn Quest Room Master and/or Toast POS strongly preferred (training provided if needed)
Role Description
Front Desk & Guest Services
- Greet, register, and assist guests during overnight hours using Inn Quest Room Master
- Process check-ins, check-outs, room changes, and reservations
- Address guest requests, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally
- Answer phone calls and provide information about the property and local area
- Monitor lobby activity to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
Night Audit & Accounting
- Complete the nightly audit process in Inn Quest Room Master
- Balance and reconcile daily room revenue, taxes, payments, and adjustments
- Review and verify guest folios for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Generate, review, and distribute daily audit and revenue reports
- Ensure proper rollover to the next business day in Room Master
Lobby Bar & POS Reconciliation (Toast)
- Close out the lobby bar using Toast POS
- Reconcile bar sales, tips, cash, and credit card transactions
- Ensure Toast reports align with Room Master revenue totals
- Secure bar cash drawers and document variances
- Confirm the bar area is properly closed, cleaned, and secured
Security & Overnight Operations
- Conduct scheduled property walk-throughs during the shift
Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas for safety and security - Handle noise complaints, disturbances, or guest issues appropriately
- Document incidents, maintenance issues, or unusual activity in the logbook
- Contact management or emergency services when required
- This is a full-time position, in which you will typically work alone (except for when communicating with guests, the motel's Lodging Manager, and other members of Cannonball's accounting team)
- Shifts will span 11:00PM-7:00AM, including on weekends and over holidays
- Benefits include:
- $50,000-$65,000/year, commensurate with experience
- Two weeks of annual PTO, excluding federal holidays
- Choice of eight federal holidays
