Position Summary: Serves as a key financial leader within A/Z Corp, partnering directly with operational leadership to drive financial performance, transparency, and accountability across the business. This role integrates financial strategy with operational execution, providing guidance on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, risk evaluation, and margin performance.
Role and Responsibilities- Acts as a strategic advisor to Regional Directors, Account Executives, Project Executives, and Self-Perform Operations leadership, ensuring sound financial decision‑making that strengthens profitability and operational excellence.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting cycles, and monthly financial reporting for the A/Z business, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong cross‑functional engagement.
- Develop and maintain forward‑looking financial projections related to revenue, backlog, profits, cash flow, and overall operational performance, providing detailed variance analysis and recommending corrective actions where necessary.
- Oversee project financial management processes including Work‑In‑Progress (WIP) reporting, cost‑to‑complete forecasting, revenue recognition, cash flow, and profit analysis, partnering with Project Managers and operational leadership teams.
- Provide financial insight and modeling to support evaluation of new contracts, pricing strategies, contract structures, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Track operational KPIs and collaborate with operations leaders to develop performance‑enhancing actions that strengthen forecasting accuracy and financial discipline.
- Align corporate financial standards of the Company and support senior leadership team and project‑based operations.
- Prepare and present financial results, trends, risks, and recommendations to A/Z and Cianbro leadership teams, serving as a strategic finance partner who strengthens financial acumen across the organization and aligns financial strategy with operational execution and business growth objectives.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, tax regulations, and corporate financial policies.
- Support internal and external audits in coordination with corporate finance.
- Maintain financial integrity, accuracy, and transparency across reporting systems.
- Drive process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and data reliability.
- Ensure adherence to contractual financial requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to operational finance and project accounting staff.
- Promote accountability and financial discipline across operational teams.
- Support succession planning and development of finance personnel.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting systems, and operational workflows.
- Stay current on industry trends in construction finance and project controls.
- Share best practices across regions to improve consistency and performance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional leadership team
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Strict adherence to financial controls and reporting standards
- Interact with all co‑workers and clients in an attentive, courteous, and professional manner
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders
- High level of integrity and accountability
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CCIFP, CMA, or CPA preferred.
- 8 years of experience in construction finance, project accounting, or operational finance; 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Expertise in project‑based financial management, including WIP reporting and contract revenue recognition.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working within Oral Fusion ERP and Cloud EPM tools a plus.
