The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) has general charge of planning, organizing, coordinating and directing programming for students requiring behavioral support and services under the supervision of the Director of Pupil Personnel Services and in accord with the policies, rules and regulations of the Board of Education.
Supervision ReceivedWorks under the direct supervision of the Special Education Supervisor.
Job Goal- Maintain a caseload of students
- Assess student skills
- Assess student behavior (via Functional Behavior Assessments)
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student performance
- Develop student programs in collaboration with special services staff
- Model behavior intervention strategies
- Train and consult with parents
- Develop and implement staff training activities
- Perform activities related to district program development
- Participate in activities related to maintaining BCBA certification
- Assume primary supervision of any assistant behavior analysts, instructional leaders and ABA instructors and paraprofessionals
Possesses excellent leadership and management skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, staff (certified and non-certified), parents and the community regarding the needs of students with significant behavioral needs.
Strong knowledge of functioning of behavior and data-based decision making. Experience working with children with disabilities. Must take a proactive approach, exercise good judgment, possess common sense and the ability to think clearly and act thoughtfully and independently.
Education and Experience- BCBA Certification
- Minimum of two years experience in programming for students with behavioral needs
- Experience in the assessment of behavioral needs and development of appropriate programs based on data
- Experience in the effective use of instructional techniques when working with students with behavioral needs.
- Experience in an educational setting
Salary to be negotiated with the Superintendent or designee. Work days:
School year and ESY. Exempt unaffiliated position.
