Leave Replacement : Middle School French Teacher

Overview

IMMEDIATE OPENING:
St. Luke's School, a secular, college-preparatory day school serving grades 5 through 12 in New Canaan, Connecticut, seeks a French teacher to cover 5 Middle School French classes, beginning immediately and running through at least February 13, possibly longer.

• Teach 5 Middle School French classes:
  French 6, French 7, French 7A, French 8, and French 8A ("A" indicates advanced).
• Plan lessons following the curriculum, maintain an open online grade book, and administer and grade assessments.

• Strong background in French.
• Inspiring, positive, flexible, collaborative teacher.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience working with children ages 11-14.

$1500/week

Each Middle School class meets 4x week, 45 minutes per session. St. Luke's has a rotating two‑week schedule, so days vary. Normal work hours during a leave replacement are Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, though each day may end earlier (e.g., Thursdays finish by noon).
