Tutors

Overview

A per diem Tutor position is available for Region No. Four Supervision District (Chester, Deep River, Essex Elementary, and Region 4 Schools). This individual will support students (tutees) to become more independent learners, persist in college, and reach their goals. The position runs through the end of the  school year. The rate of pay is $42.00 per hour.

• Reviewing classroom or curricula topics and assignments
• Assisting students with homework, projects, writing assignments, math, reading, and other academic tasks
• Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom
• Teaching skills to improve academic performance
• Supervising or leading small group activities
• Providing math and reading intervention to track progress and identify areas of improvement

• Must hold a bachelor’s degree
• Teaching certification and experience working with elementary, middle and high school students is preferred but not required
