Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full-Time)

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Congleton. This full-time position begins immediately from March and will run for an initial 2‑month period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and ongoing school needs.
The successful candidate will support the class teacher in delivering high‑quality learning experiences, assist with the day‑to‑day running of the classroom, and help create an engaging and inclusive environment that enables all pupils to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Provide in‑class support to the teacher across a range of subjects and activities
Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and provide targeted intervention where needed
Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning materials
Support pupils with additional needs, ensuring accessibility and inclusion
Assist with classroom organisation, displays, and general administrative tasks
Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment
Supervise pupils during break times, transitions, and school activities
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Uphold school policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards at all times
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience working with children in an educational setting
A genuine passion for supporting young learners
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Patience, adaptability, and a proactive attitude
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
Desirable:
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Experience in a primary school environment
Knowledge of intervention strategies or SEN support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
