Diesel Mechanic

Transdev in Concord, NC seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles, ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity of our diesel-powered assets.

• A Tech: $31.00 - $32.00 per hour
• B Tech: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
• C Tech: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
• Other duties as required.

• 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program assistance provided if needed.
• Mechanic’s Basic Tool Set.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions.
• Stand for extended periods, frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
• Push and pull objects up to 100 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
