Position Overview:

We're seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to handle a variety of on-site technical assignments. This role involves completing work orders to install, relocate, troubleshoot, or remove data communication and electronic systems. These may include network cabling, point-of-sale (POS) systems, CCTV, digital displays, computers, audio/video setups, DVRs, wireless devices, and traffic monitoring or analytic equipment. You'll be responsible for connecting systems to communication networks, checking and repairing wiring, confirming installations meet required standards, and demonstrating system operations to clients.

Key Duties:

• Interpret and apply information from technical manuals to ensure equipment operates correctly.
• Run and connect cables or wiring, including splicing or rerouting when necessary.
• Adjust or disassemble hardware to meet specific site or customer requirements.
• Input diagnostic commands and perform functional tests to verify equipment performance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience installing or servicing network hardware, cabling, and related systems.
• Strong understanding of the 25-pair color code and familiarity with T-1 circuits.
• Experience with POS setup, configuration, removal, and repair is required.
• Working knowledge of phone system installations, including correct spacing and support methods.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Experience with phone or fiber optic systems is a plus.

Travel Details:

• Company vehicle provided (must be kept at the office though)
• Must be able to travel Monday through Friday on occasion
• All work is within 250 miles of Charlotte
• No pay for travel within Charlotte/Concord. Paid travel 1 way for 1 hr or more for same day work.
• Hotels provided by client for overnight travel.
• Food Per Diem Paid at $35/day
• If traveling in a company vehicle for travel, you will get paid for drive time (paid for your drive out to the area and back, not from hotel to site)
