Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level 3 Trauma hospital in Concord, NC, requiring a minimum of 5 years of OR experience and the ability to circulate across a broad range of surgical specialties.

Details
  • 457-bed Level 3 Trauma Center, also designated as a Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center
  • 19-suite OR department averaging 50 cases per day across a wide range of specialties including trauma, ortho trauma, total joints, spine, cardiac, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics, general surgery, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, pain, and plastics
  • Advanced Spine Surgery Certification and Bariatric Center of Excellence designations within the OR department
  • Day shift hours vary based on operational needs: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, or 11a-11p (12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week)
  • Weekend rotation required every 4th weekend; coverage may be a scheduled shift (typically 7a-7p) or call (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
  • On-call required with an average of 6 call shifts per 6-week scheduling cycle; call hours are 11p-7a on weekdays and 7a-7p or 7p-7a on weekends
  • 45-minute on-call response time required
  • Schedule is set in 6-week cycles

  • No floating required
Requirements
  • Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification required
  • CNOR preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5 years of OR RN experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to circulate in multiple surgical specialties including trauma, ortho, spine, cardiac, vascular, GYN/GYN-Oncology, robotics, general, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, pain, and plastics
  • Epic EMR experience
  • At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
  • Must have worked most recent experience within the last year
Additional Information
  • Candidate must have a permanent address located at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
  • RTO requests require manager approval
  • Orientation includes facility-wide NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
  • Department support includes Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Educators, OR Assistants (ORAs), Unit Secretaries, and Tech Engineers
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Parking is free on-site
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility must have been separated from that facility for at least 1 year to be eligible
