Description:

This position is for an Operating Room Nurse specializing in various surgical procedures.
The facility is licensed for 457 beds and is a Level 3 trauma center.
It is recognized as a stroke center of excellence and a chest pain center of excellence.
The OR department consists of 19 surgical suites, with 17 rooms allocated for scheduled cases.
An average of 50 surgical cases occurs daily.
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of experience.
First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position.
The common patient types and diagnoses include trauma, orthopedic trauma, total joints, spine, cardiac, vascular, gynecology, oncology, robotics, general surgery, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain management, and plastics.
Required skills include the ability to circulate in trauma cases, orthopedic cases, cardiac procedures, and others as listed.
It is beneficial if candidates are proficient in laparoscopic and open surgical cases, with experience in robotic surgery being a plus.
Flexibility, self-motivation, and teamwork are essential traits for this role.
Support within the department includes clinical supervisors, charge nurses, and unit secretaries.
The facility utilizes EPIC for electronic medical records and has various OR equipment.
The weekend rotation is every fourth weekend, with possible call shifts required.
A 45-minute response time is expected when on call, serving as both day and night coverage.
Travelers are expected to work approximately 75% of holidays.
Requests for time off will require manager approval.
