Radius rule:
Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Department Information:

Beds: 23

Avg Daily Census – 21 patients

Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months Med/Tele experience

Will you accept a first-time traveler? Not preferred, will consider

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

Chest Pain, Rule out Stroke, Syncope, Dizziness, Respiratory Illness, a Variety of Diagnoses

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)

Ratios:

RN: 1:4-5

CNA:
Days 1:7;
Nights 1:10

Skills required:

General Med/Tele skillset:
Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps

Medication gtt management to include:
Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF

Support within the Department:

Supervisor

Charge RN – free floating

RT, 24/7 – not dedicated to this unit specifically

Hospitalist, 24/7 - not dedicated to this unit specifically

Phlebotomy:
Combined effort between RNs, IV team

IV/VAT Team

Technology/Equipment:

EMR: EPIC

IV Pumps:
Alaris

Med Dispensing:
Omnicell

Floating:

Within region and scope of practice

Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

Orientation (facility and unit):

NEO

2 days departmental

Scheduling:

Weekend rotation: every other

Holiday Expectations:
Travelers will work 75% of holidays

RTO:
Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
