Description:

Licensed for 457 beds.
Level 3 Trauma Center.
Stroke Center of Excellence.
Bariatric Center of Excellence.
Chest Pain Center.
Department has 19 OR suites, 17 of which are blocked.
Average of 50 cases per day.
Patient types include trauma, orthopedic trauma, orthopedic total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics, general surgery, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain management, and plastics.
Required to circulate in a variety of surgical specialties.
Charge RN experience and scrubbing proficiency are required for night shift contracts.

Experience with laparoscopic and open procedures is preferred.
Must be flexible, self-driven, and a motivated team player.
Call coverage will be required, averaging 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule.
Response time for call is 45 minutes.
Holiday expectations include working 75% of holidays.
Weekend rotation occurs every 4th weekend.
Dependent on needs, weekend coverage may be in the form of call or scheduled shifts.
Scheduled shifts are typically 7 AM to 7 PM.
Service line clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, ORAs, unit secretaries, and tech engineers provide support within the department.
Unit-specific equipment includes typical operating room equipment.
Department culture revolves around collaboration and teamwork.
