Location Overview
An experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in Operating Room (OR) nursing is sought for a contract opportunity in Concord, NC. This role supports a Level 3 Trauma hospital recognized as a Stroke Center of Excellence and Bariatric Center of Excellence, offering exposure to a broad range of surgical specialties in a high-acuity environment.
This position is based in Concord, North Carolina, a vibrant city with a mix of historic charm and modern amenities. Position Responsibilities- Provide professional perioperative nursing care in a state-of-the-art OR with 19 suites averaging 50 cases daily.
- Circulate in a variety of complex cases including trauma, orthopedic trauma, total joints, spine, cardiovascular, gynecology, oncology, robotics, general surgery, bariatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, and plastics.
- Exhibit charge nurse leadership experience with proficiency in scrubbing.
- Flexibly support case needs, including laparoscopic and open abdominal procedures, cystoscopy, vascular surgery, and robotic cases.
- Participate in an average of six call shifts per six-week schedule with a 45-minute response time.
- Work every fourth weekend with a mix of scheduled shifts and on-call coverage, including holiday coverage at a 75% expectation.
- Collaborate with clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, and technical staff within an empowered OR team environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of OR nursing experience required.
- Current NC RN license and BLS certification required. CNOR preferred but not mandatory.
- Proven leadership as a charge RN with strong case management skills in a multidisciplinary surgical environment.
- Ability to adapt and work independently while maintaining a team-oriented approach.
- 12-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Call responsibilities as outlined above.
- Orientation includes new employee orientation and two days of departmental training.
