The Manufacturing Technical Support Specialist defines customer requirements and digitally processes orders ensuring all information is provided to the production and quality testing departments. They act as a liaison between the lab, plant, sales and the customer to ensure products and processes conform.
Position Requirements /Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Proficiency in color science theory and formulation systems
- Develops and maintains product information and digitally processes orders providing detailed information obtained from the appropriate departments to allow technicians to successfully complete their work
- Maintains and optimizes formula controls to current protocols
- Reviews Certificate of Analysis of finished products for conformance to customer specifications, if necessary
- Effectively communicates with customer to ensure product specifications
- Customer relations that include customer visits, if necessary
- Assists with Technical Service on product non-conformances
- Interdepartmental understanding and working knowledge of Customer Service Lab, Quality Testing, and Production
- Documents customer information and specification that included applications and testing requirements
- Maintains master specifications
- Maintains inventory of obsolete materials for work away
- Creates and maintains product encyclopedia’s
- Ability to evaluate color (hue, chroma, shade) with color computer and visual assessment
- Verifies formulations before production
- Effectively communicates with other departments and customers to ensure product conformance
- Establishes and maintains relationships with other departments and customers
- Demonstrates a proficient understanding of formulation, color science, and our processes
- Analyzes qualitative, quantitative, and statistical data
- Makes decisions to approve and ship products based on customer information, customer interactions and experienced color knowledge
- Guidance on color decision and training of lab personnel including MTS role
- Effectively manages time and meet deadlines
- Effectively communicates product status
- Improves job knowledge by attending training and keeping relevant knowledge and skills current;
- Demonstrates organizational skills by working independently and with a team
- Contributes to organization success by meeting team and company goals;
Follows all quality system and safety protocols by safely operating equipment, wearing proper protective equipment (PPE), completing safety training, keeping work areas clean and organized, and contributing to established safety goals; - Contributes and assists in implementation of ideas for continuous improvement.
