2nd Shift Production Supervisor (manufacturing exp. req.) Description
Our client, a growing industrial manufacturing company in Surry County, NC, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team (60 company-wide). This is a hands-on role where you will oversee production teams while supporting process improvements and staff development. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial manufacturing, supervising teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
You will be responsible for coordinating production activities, maintaining communication with teams, coaching and developing staff, monitoring capacity and schedules, ensuring workplace safety, and resolving operational issues. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact by optimizing processes, supporting cross-training initiatives, and contributing ideas to improve efficiency and quality. This position offers a stable work environment with a shorter commute from Greensboro or Winston-Salem and the chance to play a key role in strengthening processes and training across both shifts.
- Supervise and coordinate production and team-lead activities
- Maintain daily team communication boards and updates
- Enforce workplace policies on attendance and conduct
- Coach staff with development plans and track training progress
- Conduct performance evaluations and set measurable goals
- Develop cross-training and career growth plans
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor capacity and staff to meet production targets
- Promote continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
- Manage production schedules and resolve operational issues
- Ensure safety compliance and proper use of protective equipment
- Track and close workflow issues and maintain staff records
- 3+ years of industrial manufacturing experience required
- Experience in creating production schedules required
- Supervisory experience required
- Some Saturdays required depending on production needs
