Job Description

Description:

  • Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):
  • Responsibility for operation of Planning Department, including:
  • Directing the production of cane output in WL and CO.
  • Direct responsibility for cane management for WL and CO.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Track cane inventories on a daily (or weekly) basis and use inventory levels as inputs to the weekly scheduling process.
  • Create the weekly core manufacturing schedule by product type using inventory levels, weekly demand, inventory build goals, and experiment/downtime requests as inputs.
  • Determine interplant cane shipment volumes each week and track plant performance against shipment plan
  • Throughout the week, track each plant’s output performance by product against the weekly schedule and work with operations departments as necessary to correct issues.
  • Provide input on cane manufacturing to the Capacity Analyst for the monthly capacity plan.
  • Routine participation in department wareflow discussions and decisions to maximize throughput and minimize ware in process.
  • Upon request, perform analysis or generate information in support of WW fiber manufacturing planning scenarios.

Project Tasks:

  • Coordinate training and certification of new personnel as well as existing personnel to meet department standards.
  • Identify and implement programs to improve performance and output; specifically in the areas of documentation, training, maintenance, and support of all warehouse operations and equipment.
  • Identify and implement programs that insure appropriate department capacity for future growth of the business; specifically supporting the Tower 5 activities with regard to shipping relocation, expansion
    automation.
  • FDD receiver.
  • Identify and implement programs to improve customer satisfaction, specifically in the areas of packaging and fiber handling quality issues.

Education:

  • 4 year degree in business or technical discipline is required.

Must Haves:

  • 5-7 years of experience in shipping/material planning.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple inputs into one plan.
  • Strong attention to detail.
