Requires strong engineering background with focus on innovation with a deep understanding of the product development cycle. Create problem solving solutions to complex problems in a high pace environment. Manage projects from conceptual design through planning, execution, testing, and delivery. Create detailed CAD designs, ensure compliance with safety standards, manage budgets, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines. Utilize engineering, manufacturing and QC resources to meet or exceed requirements while developing complex systems or redesigning existing components.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Manage projects in all aspects of Automotive Engineering with regards to Professional Motorsports.
- Create engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using CAD software, ensuring technical accuracy.
- Develop project schedules, define project scope, and manage budgets.
- Act as the liaison between engineering teams, clients, sponsors, etc. to plan, review, and ensure compliance with requirements.
- Oversee quality control, risk mitigation, and final project review and execution.
- Oversee the assembly and tests of engineering prototypes from conceptual ideas through to implementation.
- Present project status reports, technical data, and progress updates to appropriate supervisors/managers.
- Provide development expertise on providing engineering design on eligible parts.
- Revise existing designs to improve performance and/or meet new requirements.
- Perform engineering analysis as required with supporting calculations.
- Work closely with race engineers and crew chiefs to create project scopes and feedback loops.
- Attend race, test and rig events as required.
- Establish procedures and documentation as required to fulfill the project testing and maintenance schedules.
- Continue educational and experimental interest in emerging technologies.
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Design, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering or working experience equivalent.
- 3-5 years’ experience in motorsports, automotive or manufacturing environment are required.
- Advanced computer skills required – CAD/PLM package (NX/Team Center), competency in Microsoft Office Products
- Programming/Coding/AI/ML skills are highly desirable.
- Must be able to work individually and as a member of a team.
- Able to communicate and work effectively with all levels of team structure.
