Job SummaryThe Junior Production Supervisor is responsible for managing production operations during the assigned shift, including blow molding, receiving, processing, and overall production output. The role works closely with Production Supervisors, the Production Manager, and senior department leads for mentorship and guidance. Core responsibilities include variance analysis, efficiency tracking, production planning/reporting, equipment repair coordination, quality issue resolution, safety protocol enforcement, and leadership development participation.
The position also provides coverage during vacations, personal time off, and other business needs.
12:30 pm to 9:30 pm;
Wednesdays and Sundays off. Hours and days may be adjusted as needed for coverage.
- Ensure shift production, cleaning activities and schedules meet business objectives
- Maximize shift production efficiencies and minimize waste
- Maintain positive employee relations and labor efficiency
- Address operational, maintenance, and employee issues in a timely manner
- Strive to meet identified goals
- Coach, develop, train, and motivate employees
- Communicate effectively to employees, peers, and management
- Ensure responsibilities and expectations for each position are completed
- Enforce compliance with all rules, policies, programs, and procedures, including GMP, SQF, Safety, Quality, Regulatory (State and Federal), Company, and Plant
- Conduct incident investigations and follow up with corrective action
- Maintain the highest level of housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitation
- Administer coaching and corrective action as needed
- Assume increased responsibilities as production requirements dictate
- Adjust work shifts based on production and staffing needs
- Assume production manager responsibilities in their absence
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in a Dairy Manufacturing environment
- Experience with HTST pasteurization
- Strong computer skills (RSView, Excel, Word)
- Ability to work well with people
- Good math skills working with fractions, percents, and decimals
- Good reading, writing and communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Work safely and responsibly, following all safety policies, procedures, and rules
- Report unsafe observations or conditions
- Report injuries
- Coordinate safety programs, training, and continuous development with the EHS team
- Meet all company training requirements, including Log Out/Tag Out, PPE, PIT, Ergonomics, etc.
- Support SQF by maintaining food safety and quality, completing job tasks, and keeping the work area sanitary following prescribed procedures
- Report food safety problems to a manager
- Stand: long periods (minimum of 6 hours)
- Sit: occasionally for short periods
- Walk: frequently
- Bend: occasionally
- Twist spine: occasionally
- Lift light (≈30 lbs.) infrequently
- Carry light (30‑50 lbs.) infrequently, distance 100 ft.
