Schedule: Full-time, primarily between 10am and 8pm; on-call shifts may be required.

Summary:
As a member of the multidisciplinary residential team, the Mental Health Clinician reports to the Clinical Case Manager and is responsible for providing therapeutic and supportive services to clients and families in various environments, including milieu, community, and natural settings. The ideal candidate must have strong clinical skills, with emphasis on Expressive Therapies, clinical writing, and trauma-informed care.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments (including suicide risk) and develop treatment plans and IEP-related services.
  • Execute treatment plans and IEPs through individual check-ins and group sessions, including psycho-educational groups, using evidence-based practices.
  • Provide crisis management to students in distress, including physical management using CPI.
  • Maintain clinical records relevant to treatment, including release forms, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with education and residential staff to address student needs within academic and residential environments.
  • Support milieu services by crisis management, problem solving, and supporting students in their environments.
  • Work with other specialists to develop integrated interventions across modalities.
  • Provide staff training and consultation on students’ mental health needs.
  • Document clinical notes, progress reports, IEP information, and re-evaluations.
  • Implement direct treatment in individual and group settings within the milieu.
  • Participate in meetings related to individual or program planning.
  • Engage in de-escalation techniques.
  • Attend required training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain regular attendance, including during inclement weather.
  • Demonstrate mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, and a desire to improve individuals’ lives.
  • Work effectively in stressful situations, de-escalating individuals with complex needs.
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize activities effectively.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Pass Guild driving test to access Guild vehicles.
  • Requirements:

    • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
    • Licensed as LICSW, LMHC, or Licensed Psychologist.
    • At least 5 years of experience working with children/adolescents with mental health diagnoses.
    • At least 5 years of experience with children/adolescents with developmental disabilities.
    • Experience facilitating individual, group, and family therapy.
    • Supervisory experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of relevant state departments (DEEC, DDS, DCF) is a plus.
    • Ability to implement crisis intervention, including working with Mobile Crisis Teams.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
    • Must meet Department of Early Education and Care background check requirements.
