Job Description:

This position involves working in a cardiac step-down unit with general medical/surgical telemetry, handling patients with conditions such as CHF, COPD, and chest pain. Nurses will not take post-Cath lab patients unless a radial artery was used. Advanced care for chest tubes, hi-flow and Bi-pap, and procedures such as thoracentesis, tracheostomies, and pacemaker management may be required.
Responsibilities:
Provide proficient care in telemetry for a 5:1 patient ratio.
Perform bedside shift rounds and handoff.
Utilize Meditech Expanse for documentation.
Participate in a staffing model consisting of 4 RN teams with two LNAs and a Unit Clerk.
Requirements:
Proficient in telemetry.
Certifications

Required:

ASLS, BLS.

Experience with IV pumps, hi-flow, Bi-pap, and Kangaroo pumps.
Ability to work every other weekend or follow a 4-week shift schedule.
