Certified Mastectomy Fitter | Per Diem at Concord Hospital Health System

Summary

A Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) measures patients, fits and adjusts external breast prostheses, bras, and related supplies. The CMF provides instruction and training to help patients use and maintain post‑mastectomy devices, supporting their physical and emotional well‑being.

Education & Certification
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) via the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, & Pedorthics (ABC) or the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC)
Experience
  • Newly certified fitters encouraged to apply
  • Preferred 1–2 years of experience in breast prosthetics or related services
Responsibilities
  • Specialize in breast prostheses, post‑mastectomy and breast‑reduction products
  • Provide direct hands‑on contact with patients, taking measurements and ensuring a proper fit
  • Adjust, modify and troubleshoot external breast prostheses, bras, and related supplies
  • Follow up with patients to evaluate fit and make adjustments as needed
  • Educate patients on proper use and maintenance of products to achieve comfort and symmetry
  • Use electronic medical records and Microsoft Office for documentation
  • Manage inventory, office supplies, cash, coding, billing, charge entry, and payment posting
  • Maintain a clean, organized boutique environment
  • Ensure compliance with DNV and HIPAA regulations
  • Serve as a resource to staff, patients and volunteers
  • Assist in marketing and promotion of patient‑related products to Concord Hospital medical staff
  • Work under the supervision of the Director of Cancer Center and Boutique Manager

Work Environment Requirements

This role requires regular lifting, carrying or pushing/pulling of up to 20–50 lbs, fine‑motor skill activities, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to slippery surfaces and confined spaces. The employee must hear, speak, and perform tasks requiring color vision, depth perception, and both far and near vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
