Our Accounting Team is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Accounting Specialist to support accounting and budget operations by analyzing, testing, and creating documentation for processes and systems. The role serves as a subject‑matter expert in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger cost allocation, 1099 generation, producer commissions, ASO business, ACH processes, and cash management/banking.
The Accounting Specialist offers a competitive hourly salary of $21.00 to $23.00 based on experience and excellent benefits, including health, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, a 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and more!
Some of the Responsibilities for This Role- Complete accounts payable and receivable operations by updating and maintaining selected accounting schedules, analyzing and testing systems, resolving technical problems, completing general ledger cost allocation, implementing productivity standards, writing and maintaining reference manuals, providing reports, and training other staff members.
- Ensure proper producer payments by processing producer commission payments and statements.
- Provide accounting services by processing ACH and other electronic files and managing the company credit card process.
- Contribute to company strategic initiatives by assisting the Team Lead, Accounting with assignments and technical projects based on Senior Management directives.
- Maintain operations by performing cash management and banking duties.
- Improve quality, productivity, and procedures by serving as liaison with banking partners, other vendors, and the Business Support Unit to resolve technical issues, and reconcile issues pertaining to customer or company accounts.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert and ensure knowledge of public and private exchange business is current by implementing exchange accounting functions, attending meetings and seminars, training others, and documenting processes.
- Maintain ASO operations by auditing all ASO workflow to ensure proper application of policies; analyzing and resolving ASO billing job errors and failures; serving as liaison between Marketing and ASO customers, and assisting with bids and presentations.
- Protect the organization by daily monitoring of bank reports for fraud.
- Serve customers, both internal and external, by answering letters, phone calls, e‑mails, and other inquiries.
Associate’s Degree in Accounting and/or at least four years of related experience including knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures, or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and/or education. Experience working with computerized accounting systems and/or banking software is required.
Work Schedule for This RoleThe typical work schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This position will work on‑premises at our Concord, NH headquarters. Our full‑time work schedule is 37.5 hours per week. All candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
