Patient Services Representitive-Cardio​/Pulmonary​/Neurology​/Sleep Lab

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology/Sleep Disorders, greets patients, visitors and physicians entering the department, answers and manages phone calls to the 4 East department lines, accurately assists in various forms of record processing for 4 East departments. Must maintain a high level of patient confidentiality via HIPAA guidelines and be committed to Service Excellence at all times.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Terminology course preferred

• Previous coursework related to administrative skills preferred
• One year in a medical office environment preferred
• Customer service, data entry, and Hospital RIS experience a plus

• Organization and multitasking skills
• Ability to read and communicate effectively using medical terminology
• Accurate data entry skills
• Courteous and professional manner when dealing with public both in person and on the phone
• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, i.e., answer phones, give verbal reports, generate paperwork in an organized manner all at the same time as well as working with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Maintains standard of performance which promote Service Excellence
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
