Job Summary

Are you passionate about animals and have a knack for building and training amazing teams? We’re looking for a highly organized and proactive Hiring and Training Coordinator to help us grow our dedicated crew of dog walkers and pet sitters! The Training Coordinator will play a crucial role in recruiting, training and supporting our team of pet care professionals. This position requires a love for animals, a strong sense of organization, excellent communication skills and a proficiency in learning technologies.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and improving our training program, conducting onboarding & in-the-field training, and ensuring that our staff is equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to provide top-notch care for pets. The Training Coordinator will work closely with various other management staff to facilitate communication and enhance the overall learning experience for our team.

We’re looking for someone who is just as interested in developing great people as they are in building strong systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and post job ads tailored to attract animal enthusiasts.
  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews and hire qualified candidates.
  • Create and deliver engaging training programs to ensure staff are confident and capable in pet care, safety and customer service.
  • Create training materials, manuals and resources that align with company policies and best practices in pet care.
  • Conduct hands‑on training sessions for new hires in real‑world scenarios on pet care techniques, safety protocols, customer service and company standards.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing feedback, coaching and support to foster continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with management to identify training needs and adapt programs accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance and employee progress.
  • Address performance challenges with professionalism and care.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture where employees feel valued and motivated.
  • Be a resource for staff questions and concerns, maintaining open communication.
Qualifications
  • Strong interest in people development, coaching, and team dynamics
  • Naturally curious about how people learn, communicate, and perform at their best
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to build trust with team members while maintaining clear expectations and accountability
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized in a fast‑moving environment
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects and processes
  • Experience in training, staff development, recruiting, teaching, coaching, or leadership roles preferred
  • Experience in pet care (dog walking, pet sitting, veterinary, etc.) is helpful but not required
  • Comfortable learning and using technology and software systems for hiring, training, and record keeping
  • Ability to adapt and problem‑solve in a dynamic, growing company
