This is a full-time, on-site role for a PLM/PCM Asbestos and/or Microbiological Analyst based in Concord, CA. The analyst will be responsible for sample preparation, analysis, and reporting for asbestos identification using PLM (Polarized Light Microscopy) and/or PCM (Phase Contrast Microscopy) methods, in addition to performing microbiological analysis if applicable. Daily responsibilities include maintaining laboratory equipment, adhering to quality control standards, ensuring compliance with laboratory safety protocols, and accurately documenting test results.
Qualifications- Proficiency in PLM and/or PCM analysis for asbestos identification
- Experience with microbiological analysis, including sample preparation and testing
- Familiarity with laboratory quality control practices and safety procedures
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is preferred but not required
- Prior experience within an environmental laboratory setting and knowledge of regulatory guidelines are an advantage
