Job Description:

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver responsible for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame, utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16.
The RN provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, environment, and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required
- Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing Required
- 2000 hours of direct bedside care in a step-down or intermediate care unit as a Registered Nurse in the last 3 years - Core Requirement.
- RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing Required
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Core Requirement
- ACLS Required prior to completion of orientation to the assigned area
- Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11/15/2018)
- Internal Candidates must pass prior to applying for the position (must be proctored in Human Resources)
- NIHSS - No Issuing Agency Certification
Core:
- Competency in caring for patients post-cardiothoracic surgery, esophageal surgery, and cardiovascular interventional procedures.
- Ability to provide care for patients requiring cardioversion, thoracentesis, temporary pacing, and moderate sedation.
- Competency in managing IV medicated drips requiring minimal titration, including vasoactive and antiarrhythmic agents.
12:00 PM - 8:00 AM, No Waive (United States of America)
Pay Range:$77.04 - $104.97 hourly
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note:
Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.
