Project Manager – Bay Cities Paving & Grading, Inc., Concord, CA

Job Summary – Oversees construction projects to meet design, budget, and schedule goals under the Area Manager’s direction. Provides technical direction, maintains customer relationships, and ensures safe, profitable projects.

• Manage project finances, schedule, and scope to meet or exceed financial projections.
• Lead and motivate field teams, modeling effective management techniques.
• Act as liaison between clients, estimators, and on‑site supervisors to maintain high customer service.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, union officials, public agencies, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Maintain project safety through weekly checks, safety meetings, and adherence to owner safety programs.
• Review contract documents, labor agreements, and ensure compliance with prevailing wage, DBE, and union requirements.
• Support in‑house counsel by preparing and negotiating contract revisions.
• Develop and keep accurate project schedules (CPM/Primavera) and update them monthly.
• Implement quality control programs to meet all project specifications.
• Anticipate and mitigate project risks, track change orders, and ensure timely closeout of CCOs and claims.
• Participate in recruiting and training of project staff.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of construction project management experience, including 5+ years managing personnel.
• Advanced knowledge of construction practices, contracts, cost control, scheduling, and project management software (Primavera P6, Viewpoint Spectrum, HCSS).
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to work across disciplines and under tight deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.

Salary Range: $125,000 – $150,000 (may vary based on experience and education).
