Senior Police Department Information Technology Analyst
The City of Concord is currently seeking to fill one Senior PD IT Analyst vacancy in the Public Safety Division of the Information Technology Department. This position will play a key role in the implementation, support and maintenance of law enforcement applications and systems at the Police Department.
Information Technology DepartmentThe mission of the Information Technology Department is to ensure Concord’s technology portfolio provides the appropriate set of tools required for delivering high-quality services to internal departments, Concord residents, and other agencies in a consistent manner sustainable over the 10‑year budget horizon.
What you will be doing:- Leading technology implementations by collaborating with Police Department staff in evaluating and recommending technical solutions.
- Working with management and vendors to scope and price IT system and program implementations.
- Supporting and maintaining cloud-based CAD and RMS solution.
- Managing deployed mobile devices, smartphones, wireless routers, body and vehicle cameras, along with building security technology.
- Configuring, supporting and maintaining handheld and car radios and dispatch consolettes.
- Assisting IT department staff with installing computers, network cables and other hardware.
- Generating reports and queries from databases to satisfy mandated reporting requirements.
- Supporting applications for the Police Department, including but not limited to:
Software interfaces for RMS, data warehouse aggregation, query solutions, State LE programs, evidence, CLETS, PD Scheduling, Internal web apps written in Django, Police Radio Management, Crime Analysis software and tools, ALPR, Tasers and body worn cameras and cloud-based cameras and building security. - Programming is not a key part of the role but maintaining and utilizing your programming skills to increase operational efficiencies and functionality is desirable.
- Partial telecommuting may be available after completion of probation.
- Serves as technical resource to the City’s Police and IT Departments
- Performs business analysis, application patching, application design, and programming when necessary
- Creates, modifies, updates, and maintains programs and reports as needed
- Creates relational table structures to support application design
- Creates and supports automated interfaces between systems
- Analyzes internal customer requests to create the best possible solutions
- Creates and maintains documentation for systems
- Tests and debugs programs
- Investigates and determines causes of computer program malfunctions and implements corrective action
- Writes computer systems requirements and specifications
- Implements and maintains new systems – on premise or in the cloud
- Supports system users and provides training when needed
- Provides cost analysis of implementing new systems
- Can prioritize workload and multitask with multiple interruptions
