Payroll Specialist

Description

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll processes are executed accurately and efficiently for a large employee base. This is an onsite opportunity with occasional overtime required to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

- Handle employee timecards by reviewing, correcting discrepancies, calculating and securing approvals.

- Process payroll for high volume of employees mostly hourly

- Audit payroll records and data.

- Maintain organized and up-to-date payroll documentation and records.

- Apply payroll calculations, including overtime and specialized pay structures, accurately.

- Support payroll-related audits and assist in generating reports as needed.

- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and management teams to address payroll inquiries and requirements.

- Participate actively in payroll time tracking projects to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

- Proficient in full-cycle payroll processes especially auditing timecards for contract workers - OT, DT Etc.

- Skilled in processing payroll for 500+ employees.

- Familiarity with larger company ERP payroll systems - ADP, Workday, Etc.

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

- Ability to review and approve timesheets accurately.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-departmental coordination.
