Med Evals - Audiologist (MA, MS, AuD)
Join our mission to serve veterans by conducting clinical audiology evaluations. In this role, you will assess veterans to provide professional opinions on the severity, diagnosis, causation, and service-related probability of their hearing problems. You will be part of a specialized team of audiologists and nurse practitioners dedicated to working with veterans.
Concord, CA: This is a part-time to full-time employed position with a primary work location in Concord, CA. It involves approximately 25% travel to cover offices in Santa Rosa and Atascadero, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for an Audiologist who desires to perform clinical evaluations without the responsibilities of hearing aid fittings or sale.
The listed compensation is for a full-time position and is paid per case. The actual compensation will depend on the number of coverage days per week and volume.
Responsibilities and DutiesYour functions include:
- Responsible for administering and interpreting a variety of tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, such as air and bone conduction; speech recognition and discrimination tests; the site of damage; and effects on comprehension and speech
- Evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational and conduct medical record reviews of past audiograms and documents to determine the likely cause of the hearing loss, and to state the prognosis and address the issues of hearing loss and tinnitus
- Operates computerized programs and utilizes application software and databases in order to enter, modify, and access information into/from electronic medical records, and utilizing report writing formats
- Maintains patient confidentiality with written and verbal information per HIPAA.
- Responsible for conducting otoscopic examinations, cerumen management, and calibration checks of audiometric equipment
