Position: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in providing essential speech therapy services to students in a school setting. The SLPA will assist in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapy to support students' speech, language, and communication needs under the supervision of a licensed SLP. This role involves collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure effective communication support and monitoring student progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and in collaboration with supervising Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs).
  • Provide therapy services to students individually and in group settings, focusing on areas such as articulation, language development, fluency, and pragmatic skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication goals within the educational environment.
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure continued improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other documentation as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • State license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, preferably in speech therapy or related roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in supporting students' communication development.
