Join Concord Communications as a Detention Services Officer in the City of Concord Police Department. This role supports the city's Detention Program by ensuring the safe and efficient processing of detainees.

The Detention Services Officer performs a range of routine law‑enforcement activities, prisoner search, fingerprinting, evidence collection, booking, and prisoner care. The officer also transports detainees to county facilities and courts, performs breath tests, and assists with court‑mandated tasks.

• Search prisoners; take fingerprints, photographs, and collect evidence.
• Complete booking records and maintain accurate detainee logs.
• House, feed, and care for prisoners in custody; administer first aid and CPR as needed.
• Transport prisoners to county jail facilities and escort them to court appearances.
• Conduct and monitor breath tests for blood alcohol content.
• Maintain inventory of Preliminary Alcohol Screening (PAS) devices.
• Assist with court‑ordered bookings and other court‑mandated processing.
• Participate in training and briefings; provide liaison support to local, state, and federal agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the police department and detention program.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of related work experience, preferably in a law‑enforcement setting.
• California driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to establish rapport and trust.
• Ability to assess situations accurately and make quick, sound decisions.
• Demonstrated multitasking, prioritization, and teamwork skills.
• Cultural sensitivity and situational awareness.
• Willingness to adapt to various shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Night shift differential: $2.00/hour; grave shift differential: $2.50/hour.
