Education:
A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology, A.O.S. Drafting/CAD, Drafting Certificate/Certification, or related technical degree. Candidates without formal degrees must demonstrate strong proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting. Description CTG is seeking a Development Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician II to support engineering development programs focused on custom process equipment used in global manufacturing environments. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD while ensuring compliance with company drafting standards.
The technician will collaborate closely with engineering teams to convert design concepts into complete drawing packages including assemblies, weldments, sheet metal, and component detail drawings. The position also requires collecting measurements and documenting system configurations on the production floor to ensure accurate equipment representation. Requirements:
• Create and maintain 2D drawings from existing 3D models
• Develop 3D models for new mechanical components and assemblies
• Incorporate engineering updates into drawing packages
• Collect measurements and equipment data from the production floor
• Design mechanical layouts and mounting systems for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components
• Submit drawing packages through the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process
• Ensure drawings meet internal standards, ASME/ANSI guidelines, and safety requirements Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of professional mechanical drafting experience
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault
• Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards
• Strong Windows-based computer skills
• Experience creating detail, assembly, weldment, and sheet metal drawings
• Ability to use basic measurement tools and capture field measurements
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing or production environment Additional Information
