Position: Staff Water Resource Engineer

GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Staff Water Resource Engineer in any of our offices in CA (
San Diego, Irvine, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Concord, Roseville, Santa Rosa
). As a Water resources engineer, you will have the opportunity to focus on various areas of expertise including water resources, hydrology and hydraulics, storm water and flood management, engineering research, GIS analyses, design plans, specification writing and construction cost estimating.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Contract Management:
    Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.
  • Improvement/Innovation:
    Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
  • Engineering Standards Specification:
    Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
  • Knowledge Management System:
    Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
  • Client & Customer Management (External):
    Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Personal Capability Building:
    Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Technical Developments Recommendation:
    Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
  • Product and Solution Development:
    Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
  • Research:
    Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
  • Technical Troubleshooting:
    Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Engineering, Water Resources

Salary Range: $83,000- $140,000 based on experience.
