Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment? Our growing construction client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity. Construction industry experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Process high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable

+ Review and verify invoices for accuracy, coding, and approvals

+ Match purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, and receipts (3-way match)

+ Manage lien releases, vendor compliance documentation, and W-9s

+ Track retainage and progress billings

+ Prepare and process weekly check runs and ACH payments

+ Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

+ Support month-end close related to AP

+ Maintain organized and audit-ready records

Requirements

+ 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience

+ Construction industry experience strongly preferred

+ Familiarity with subcontractor pay applications and lien waivers

+ Strong understanding of job costing and GL coding

+ Proficient in Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUP preferred)

+

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, SAP, or similar)

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

+ Excellent communication and follow-up skills
