About the role

We’re seeking an Accounting Manager to lead our Accounts Receivable team and oversee billing, collections, and revenue recognition. This role manages key accounting functions, including month‑end close, financial analysis, reporting, and audit activities, while continually improving accounting systems, policies, and procedures.

What you’ll do
  • Daily supervision of accounts receivable staff, including continued compliance with internal controls.
  • Oversees grant billing and collections to ensure demands are processed and paid on a timely basis with the goal of keeping DSO’s below 60 days.
  • Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses.
  • Collaborates with program management to understand budget variances and prepare budget modifications.
  • Maintains strong relationships with funding agencies through timely and proactive communication.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reporting.
  • Supports the annual budget process and year‑end financial audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent education.
  • 5+ years of previous experience in a relevant accounting field.
  • 2+ years of staff supervision.
  • Experience with Fund Accounting, HUD and Government Contracting, Non‑Profit accounting experience highly desired.
  • Experience utilizing Intacct or other middle‑market accounting systems required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
  • Experience working in diverse settings with people across all socio‑economic spectrums and a wide variety of personalities and roles– staff, residents, local agencies, contractors, lenders, etc.
  • Working knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed to meet established deadlines.

  • Proficiency with government and fund accounting.
  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, practices, and analysis.
  • Strong oral/written communication skills and listening abilities.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, self‑motivated and accountable for timely follow‑through.
  • Strong presence, consistent energy level, and positive demeanor.
  • Demonstrates high accuracy and thoroughness in monitoring own work to ensure quality.
  • Staff supervision, including knowledge of management principles including performance monitoring and employment activities.
  • A high level of integrity and strong ethical values; maintain the highest standards of confidentiality with all records, including organization and individual information.
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, analytical, self‑motivated and possess a team attitude.
  • Able to multi‑task and work under pressure, plan and problem solve.
  • Must possess a willingness to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job and business.
Position Requirements
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and credit check.
  • Must provide TB test clearance.
