MDB Transportation is looking for a reliable and dependable full-time Port Dispatcher to serve as a point of communication between our truck drivers and dispatch.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of dispatching experience within the Port of LA/Long Beach, knowledge of all terminals, experience making terminal appointments, routing drivers to the correct terminal, coordinating deliveries, understanding per diem and demurrage, minimizing dry runs to terminals, and strong knowledge of steamship lines and container yards.

• Schedule appointments for empty terminations and imports when requested or for missed loads.
• Dispatch work to drivers according to scheduled appointments.
• Ensure deliveries are on time and report any issues or delays to the customer.
• Prioritize calls and texts according to urgency and importance.
• Monitor GPS to route and track driver status to maximize turnarounds.
• Update computer systems in real time with route or delivery status as well as in/out times.
• Add notes into the TMW dispatch system for delays, dry runs, yard stops, missed loads, or missed appointments.
• Two years of port drayage dispatching experience.
• Proficient in English and Spanish (oral and written).
• Knowledge of TMW dispatch system, Excel, Google Sheets, and other data-keeping programs.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Active listening and excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Fast learner and adaptable to fast-paced environments.

• Two years port drayage dispatching experience.
• Proficient in English and Spanish (oral and written).
• Knowledge of TMW dispatch system, Excel, Google Sheets, and other data-keeping programs.
• Organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Active listener with excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Fast learner and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
• Good judgment skills.

• Pay depends on experience ($25.00 - $28.00/hour) and will be discussed during an in-person interview.
