Compton Youth Build, operated by Entre Nous Youth Empowerment Services, helps young people ages 16-24 reclaim their education and career goals while contributing to their community. Through a blend of academics, leadership development, construction training, and life-skills coaching, participants earn high-school diplomas or equivalent credentials, gain industry-recognized certifications, and develop the confidence to thrive in college, skilled trades, or meaningful careers.

The program's holistic approach also provides counseling, service opportunities, and wraparound support so students can overcome barriers and create sustainable futures. The Ameri Corps VISTA will strengthen Compton Youth Build's fundraising and community engagement capacity. Duties include researching and compiling grant, sponsor, and donor prospects; designing a multi-faceted fundraising strategy with events, campaigns, and donor engagement plans; and creating compelling messaging, media kits, and social content to highlight the organization's impact.

The member will track fundraising efforts with tools like Give Butter and Bloomerang, evaluate outcomes, and recommend improvements. They will also develop a comprehensive communications plan, draft newsletters, and coordinate personalized outreach to key donors and partners. To expand community connections, the VISTA will plan and execute engagement events such as a Foundation Salon, cultivate new partnerships, and design donor engagement activities like advisory committees or industry talks.

Member Duties :
The Ameri Corps VISTA will boost Entre Nous' financial sustainability and visibility by designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising and communications plan. Duties include researching grants, sponsors, and donors; creating a multi-channel fundraising strategy with events, campaigns, and donor engagement; and developing compelling messaging, donor materials, and digital content. The member will launch press releases, media kits, newsletters, and social media campaigns to broaden outreach, cultivate relationships with donors and community leaders through high-profile events, and build systems to track partnerships and communications metrics, ensuring long-term donor engagement and sustainable fundraising.
