Preschool Teacher Mission: To provide Early Childhood Education to children ages 2 to 5 years old, where each Preschool Teacher is devoted to providing Biblical and academic learning in a family-friendly, safe, and nurturing environment.

• Plans, and implementation, of the curriculum in accordance with the mission, purpose, and philosophy of Love & Unity Christian Academy (LUKA), under the supervision of the Director.
• Is able to focus on individual children while being aware of what is happening throughout the classroom or in the yard.
• Keeps current developmental records and records observations of children in the class.
• Communicates regularly with parents via written note, email, telephone, or in person.
• Creates an atmosphere that is comfortable, colorful, eye-appealing, and uncluttered.
• Considers the outdoors part of the learning environment.

• Desire to educate and invest in the disciple of students in their relationship with the Lord.
• Good communication skills (both in articulation and listening), as well as relational skills in serving students and working with adults.
• Able to construct and apply developmentally appropriate lesson plans and practices in teaching.
• 12 ECE unit’s minimum
• Minimum 1-year teaching experience.
• Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences. Energetic.
• Team player.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional.
• Flexible.
• Able to sit on the floor, squat down to child’s eye level, and lift up to 50 lbs. Be capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom.
• Maintain a professional self-image and always project the values of the organization.
• Candidate must attend and be in good standing at your local church.

• Be CPR and First Aid certified.
• Submit to various background checks including the Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Child Abuse Central Index (CACI).
• Required Immunization: MMR, TDAP, and Influenza immunization.
• Mandated Reporter:
  Clearance
• Complete a Tuberculosis test and physical and provide a physician’s documentation of both.
• Be available for full-time employment
• Have dependable transportation.

• College degree (i.e., AA, BA/S, etc.)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (Not Required)
