Educational Therapist/Learning Specialist
Job Type: Full-time or Part-Time (Minimum of 10 sessions a week)
Morrissey-Compton has provided diagnostic and treatment services to children and adults for over 40 years. Although we serve all ages, the majority of our clients are K-12 students with mild to moderate learning needs. Our clients are interested in in person afternoon, evening, and weekend sessions at our Redwood City clinic. Virtual educational therapy and/or a hybrid model is also a possibility.
In addition to having a teaching credential and/or Master’s Degree, candidates must have training in programs/areas such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Slingerland, Barton, Visualizing and Verbalizing (V&V), Making Math Real, social cognition/social thinking curriculum, or executive functioning.
Responsibilities- Provide educational therapy sessions (minimum 10 per week) in-person, virtually, or in a hybrid format.
- Plan, prepare, and communicate with clients and parents regarding therapy goals.
- Conduct assessments, offer consultation, and provide parent education as additional fee‑for‑service opportunities.
- Teaching credential or Master’s Degree.

Employees are paid based on the number of hours that they work each month, i.e. this is a fee‑for‑service position. Additional time is required for planning, preparation, and communication. Specialists are compensated at a professional rate, $120 per hour of educational therapy. Additional fee‑for‑service opportunities such as consultation, assessment, and parent education are possible once you join the team. As a full‑time employee, health and dental benefits are offered.
