Cost Accountant

Enchem America is seeking a Cost Accountant to support manufacturing cost management and financial planning at our Commerce, Georgia facility. This role is responsible for analyzing production costs, supporting budget and forecasting processes, and providing data-driven insights to drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with SAP FI/CO or SAP S/4

HANA and a solid background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

• Analyze and monitor standard costs, actual costs, and variances across production processes including materials, labor, and overhead.
• Support month‑end cost closing activities including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, and variance reporting.
• Investigate and explain manufacturing variances and provide actionable recommendations to operations and finance leadership.
• Maintain and update standard cost models in SAP CO, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production realities.
• Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to track cost drivers and identify cost reduction opportunities.

• Support the annual budgeting process for manufacturing operations, including cost center planning and overhead allocation.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly cost forecasts, comparing actuals to budget and identifying trends or risks.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations summarizing cost performance and forecast accuracy.
• Collaborate with finance, procurement, and production teams to ensure alignment between operational plans and financial forecasts.

• Maintain and enhance cost reporting dashboards and financial models using SAP and Excel.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy within SAP FI/CO and S/4
  
  HANA for cost‑related transactions.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing cost documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3 or more years of cost analysis or cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Hands‑on experience with SAP FI, SAP CO, SAP FICO, or SAP S/4
  
  HANA (required)
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing cost structures
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, international environment

• CPA or CMA certification (or actively pursuing)
• Experience with SAP Product Costing (CO‑PC) or Profitability Analysis (COPA)
• Background in battery, chemical, or advanced materials manufacturing
• Experience in a multinational corporate environment
