District Loss Prevention Manager SUMMARY
This position reports to the Regional Loss Prevention Manager and is responsible for the management and maintenance of company programs and initiatives in our distribution center or assigned district of stores. Provides training and coaching to associates on topics related to physical security, inventory shrink, environmental compliance and safety. Conducts impartial and independent investigations as required. Performs a variety of operational compliance audits and manages outside vendors to perform duties in assigned distribution center or district.
This is an onsite field position supporting stores within an assigned region. Candidates must be able to travel to various locations within their assigned region.
- Responsible for the administration, communication and maintenance of the company’s loss prevention programs and initiatives in an assigned distribution center or district of stores.
- Develops strong, customer focused relationships with all levels of Operations, Human Resources and Risk Management.
- Works with district, store and supply chain operations management to identify and communicate priorities and develop appropriate shrinkage reduction strategies.
- Provides training/coaching to store associates on matters related to loss prevention, physical security, operational shrink, environmental and safety related topics.
- Schedules, manages and conducts loss prevention, operations, environmental health and safety related audits.
- Inspects physical inventory preparation, execution and variance research processes.
- Proactively monitors controls to identify potential dishonest activity – internal/external and conduct integrity or witness interviews.
- Conducts independent investigations as required.
- Utilizes POS exception reporting (Agilence) and video analytics to identify fraudulent activity or operational errors that present coaching opportunities.
- Manages loss prevention vendors such as contract security officers, video surveillance, alarms systems, locksmith services, cart containment and push out prevention systems, etc. for stores and/or distribution center.
- Prepares case documentation and evidence to support civil or criminal action.
- Supports special events and emergencies which may include providing or supplementing security coverage or coordinating contract services.
- Provides 24‑hour response, 7 days a week, for any major incidents, and Loss Prevention issues in assigned district(s) or distribution center.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college/university preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of 3 years retail loss prevention experience with multi‑unit responsibilities. Prior interview/interrogation training and practical skills (Wicklander‑Zulawski certificate preferred). CFE, CPP, PSP, PCI, CFI and Retail Management Certificates desirable. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
SPECIALSKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced technical knowledge of loss prevention systems.
- Basic knowledge of retail inventory method of accounting.
- Ability to analyze reports related to expense, cash management and inventory control.
- Provide technical assistance with digital video systems, and video analytics system.
- Solid conflict management skills with the ability to work alone in stressful situations.
- Ability and willingness to travel and stay overnight as necessary (air travel may be required).
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays appropriate to retail business needs.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, store associates and customers.
- Operate in a direct and truthful manner.
- Able to maintain confidential information in a professional manner.
- Ability to act independently and exercise judgment appropriate to situation.
- Maintain the highest degree of personal integrity, professionalism and good judgment.
The salary range for this position is $70,304.00 to $90,000.00. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications; including experience and relevant skills.
