PRODUCTION PLANNERJob Description

The Production Planner is responsible for creating & maintaining an optimized, executable production schedule. Handle master data to ensure accurate capacity planning and lead times for assigned orders. This role is onsite 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule production lines based on customer demand and capacity constraints.
  • Work cross functionally with replenishment and procurement teams to ensure schedule can be attained.
  • Investigate, analyze, and initiate bills of material, and perform necessary systems maintenance.
  • Execute, document, and distribute reports daily, to be used as tools for decision making by production personnel and manufacturing analyst/schedulers.
  • Develop and maintain optimized sequencing to minimize planned downtime for the production team.
  • Support overall manufacturing workflow visibility by providing planning and coordination of product movement throughout manufacturing process.
  • Proactively work with other functional leaders across the site(s) to create synergies and maintain effective workflow.
  • Leads weekly operational meetings with internal and/or external production teams to discuss the current production plan, required staff, sets priorities, and overcomes obstacles encountered.
  • Measures and monitors production floor output/performance and makes required scheduling changes as needed.
  • Responds to demand and supply changes in a timely and accurate manner to minimize production downtime and maintain efficiencies.
  • Monitoring packaging needed to support schedule and communicating with vendors regarding packaging that might be needed.
  • Develop Production KPI’s and work with operation and maintenance (Capacity Utilization, Standard operating efficiency, OOE – Overall Operating Efficiency, OEE – Overall equipment effectiveness, downtime, inventory turns).
  • All other duties as assigned.
Personal Qualifications
  • Ability to adapt to change in the workplace.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge in Microsoft applications required.
  • Knowledge of WMS and D365;
  • Strong understanding of inventory control.
  • Knowledge of bills of materials required.
Education and Formal Training
  • BS or Associates degree in Supply Chain or related field highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years capacity planning experience in a production environment required.
