The Director of Licensing and Regulatory Approvals leads a team of licensing staff members and oversees the Licensing Department. The Director is responsible for supporting the Corporation’s operations by overseeing, managing, and obtaining all required licensing and regulatory approvals. The Director manages and oversees the entire life cycle of the licensing function, including the preparation and submission of applications, communications with licensing officials, securing formal licensing, monitoring existing licensure, applying for renewals and modifications, and termination or transition of licensure.
The Director collaborates with other business teams and individuals to determine any licensing needs and gather information required for such licensing applications, and advises and strategizes as to the impact licensing may have on operational needs (timing, conditions, requirements, etc.). The Director may oversee and manage licensing completed by certain business teams with demonstrated competence, wishing to retain some control of certain aspects of their respective licensing functions.
The Director works as a business partner with all other business teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant certificate/training required.
- Minimum of five plus years of licensing experience in the healthcare environment required.
- A minimum of ten plus years managing employees is highly preferred.
- Experience with CDPH Primary Care Clinic License strongly preferred.
