Responsibilities
  • Leadership:
    Report to the Controller; manage, lead, and develop all finance team members other than the Controller; perform the Controller’s duties in their absence.
  • Business partnering:
    Present financial information and perspectives to all organizational levels, including the C‑suite and Board of Directors; identify business risk and opportunities with cross‑functional teams and develop mitigation plans.
  • Process improvement:
    Automate standard work processes to reduce administrative burden and risk of error.
  • Financial business cases:
    Prepare robust and diligent financial business cases for capital investment proposals; perform in‑depth financial analysis that facilitates decision making.
  • Budgeting:
    Lead the annual budget process, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and challenging departments on expense, capital, productivity, and headcount plans; prepare, distribute, and consolidate budget review files; load financial statements into divisional and corporate consolidation systems.
  • Forecasting:
    Prepare and present monthly rolling forecast updates for the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow; maintain a confidential personnel database to ensure accurate financial forecasting.
  • Period close management:
    Lead the monthly and quarterly close cycles, supporting the team to prepare the full set of financial statements and present to the Controller.
  • Business review:
    Coordinate and prepare the monthly business review package, ensuring accurate information is received on time from other departments and challenging as necessary.
  • Compliance:
    Manage SOX compliance SPA, liaise with internal and external audit, and coordinate documentation requests; provide information for local, state, and federal tax requirements; maintain RCM and critical testing documentation.
  • Inventory:
    Own inventory control scope, related entries, and account reconciliations; prepare work order variance analysis, identify root causes, and take corrective actions; review inventory risk monthly and make appropriate reserves; prepare annual cost roll data and lead implementation; oversee cycle count process with >95% accuracy; lead the annual physical inventory process.
  • Behavioral traits:
    Demonstrate independent critical thinking, drive improvements without prescriptive instructions; present to various levels of management; prioritize effectively, work calmly under pressure, and manage time constraints; lead with integrity; show initiative in leading the team, non‑Finance personnel, and assigned projects; be diligent, thorough, and detail‑oriented; maintain a positive attitude and willingness to grow.
  • Technical knowledge:
    Solid, demonstrable understanding of US GAAP and State/Federal tax laws.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business.
  • Team‑leading/supervisory experience.
  • 7+ years in a manufacturing environment with demonstrable cost accounting capability.
  • Strong ERP understanding and ability to identify/implement improvements with IT support.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of SQL/BI dashboard building.
Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $130,000‑$150,000. Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives such as equity, commissions, or other variable performance‑related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our recruiting team during the interview process.
